Canems ECU and AK Loom Relays & Fuses Fitted, plus all Cobra bodies now on!

One of my last jobs I wanted to do was fit the Canems ECU and AK Loom relays and fuses in place. I had seen Russ Howell tackle this and we had decided to go down a similar route of fixing the ECU under the passenger footwell. We had purchased some large pieces of alloy and I set about shaping this and cutting holes in one end for the large ECU connectors to run through. I then drilled and tapped each end to secure it firmly in place. I mounted the ECU on foam before securing to the alloy plate with nylocs. I have also attached the fuses and OBD port to this plate, the relays from the ECU sit just above.

I used another piece of alloy to make up a support for the relays and fuse box from the AK loom. I had to bring the plate forward slightly so I used some tubing behind it, drilling and tapping holes to hold it firmly in place against the chassis bar that runs across the width of the Cobra. There's not much room here however I just about managed to get it all in place...

It took more or less a day and a half to complete this however I'm pleased it's all in place prior to paint......

Next up was putting the body on both Al and Dad's Cobra's. We had some help from Thomas and Grace and all went according to plan. It was certainly a lot simpler than when we did mine 😃

I now just have the holes to drill for the roll bar escutcheons, some brightwork to remove, tiger seal a few areas and some trim to fit prior to heading off to SMS Autospray later this week!
