AK Loom - 'Leg3 - Connections to rear'

Leg 3 - "connections to rear' has the following connections to wire up: Fuel Tank Sender Unit (Black/Green, Brown - Earth), Number Plate Light (Red, Brown - Earth), Offside Indicator (Green/White, Brown - Earth), Offside Brake Light/Rear Lights (Green/Violet, Brown - Earth), Fog Light (Violet, Brown - Earth), Reversing Light (White/Black, 2 x Brown - Earth, Note: both of these brown wires (earths) need to be connected as this is 'daisy chained' to the remaining lights on this run), Nearside Indicator (Green/Red, Brown - Earth), Nearside Brake Light/Rear Lights (Green/Violet, Red, Brown - Earth)

I fitted the fuel tank sender unit which required me to bend the arm in a zig zag type shape as you need to ensure it doesn't rest on the bottom of the tank or hit the top. I measured the tank depth and worked from this measurement. When fitting I used Blue Hylomar around the rubber type washer to hopefully ensure no leaks occur (I believe Blue Hylomar is one of the few fuel resistant sealants you can use) Hopefully I have the arm at the correct depth and the fuel tank gauge reads correctly!

I have left some length on the number plate light wires as I will need to extend where the number plate light sits to satisfy IVA requirements.

I'm unsure what I am ultimately going to do with the Reverse Light, Fog Light and Rear Reflectors therefore I have made temporary brackets which I can fit in place using the holes already made for the quick jacks (the quick jacks are not being used at present as they do not comply with IVA requirements). I will use the bolts I have for the quick jacks to fit these in place, using acorn nuts at the ends. Hopefully this will satisfy IVA requirements until I decide what I want to do.

I connected up the earth lead to the chassis bolt ensuring all of the powder coating had been removed from the chassis. I also made up an earth lead ready to run from the battery once I purchase some battery terminals.

That's Leg3 complete. My next tasks are to refit the fuel filler cap/fuel pipe and fit the roller bars and escutcheons. I will then move in to the cabin to start tackling the remaining wiring...
