A few odd jobs done
So a few jobs done today. I removed the stainless steel header tank, the radiator and fan in preparation for when my engine and gearbox arrive. This is coming from RoadcraftUK and I am hoping it won't be too much longer to wait!
I also helped my Dad, mount the gearbox to the engine and fit the clutch slave bracket. We are hoping to fit Dad's engine sometime next week..
12th Sep - I set about adding additional bolts to the fuel tank brackets, just as a precaution. The stainless steel brackets took a while to drill through!
14th Sep - I decided to space out and drill the holes for the rivets in the bonnet. I took me a while to get the spacing correct and carefully drill the holes, all in all I am rather please with it. They will be removed again before painting.
Next jobs on the list:-
- Fit rivets to the bonnet scoop
- Fit Engine and gearbox in Dads chassis
- Install the Walbro GSL392 in-line external 5 bar fuel pump (purchased from JP4mance along with a SYTEC bullet fuel filter & SYTEC metal high flow 55 micron fuel filter, these will both be fitted following the engine/gearbox install)
- Fibreglass all gaps in wheel arches and paint with black high gloss fibreglass paint
