Bonnet Gas Rams fitted

I finished off making brackets for the bonnet gas rams, measured and marked the location of the brackets. For the bottom bonnet brackets I measured 6" up to get the centre line and for the bonnet lid brackets I measure a further 10.5" up from this point. I drilled the necessary holes to fix the bottom brackets in place and added plenty of P38 allowing these to set overnight.

Thomas my son gave me hand today, we started of adding 3 rivets in each rain channel which secured the additional supports we had made for the gas rams. We moved on to fitting the bonnet lid brackets and used rivet nuts for these. We fitted the gas rams one at a time using the same process we had for the boot. I new on the passenger side the gas ram was going to be very close to the alternator, however the bonnet closed fine after changing the bracket around the other way, an idea my clever son Thomas came up with.. It still looked like it was just resting on the alternator so I filed a small amount off the casing which appears to have done the trick. The gas ram on the drivers side also clears the washer bottle.

Really please all of the gas rams are now in place...
