Boot Gas Rams fitted

Our Dad had spent a lot of time and effort designing and making the brackets we required to fit our boot and bonnet Gas Rams. The boot has worked out really well. Our measurements for fitting these were as follows:- for the bottom boot brackets we measured 16" down from the top of the boot to find the centre point. We used plenty of P38 to fit the brackets to the body, allowing these to set sufficiently overnight. From the centre of the bottom bracket we measured 10.5" up to to find the centre point for the top bracket. We drilled the necessary holes and fixed the remaining bracket parts in place (using rivets in the rain channel and rivet nuts in the boot lid). We have also added additional supports on both the boot and lid to be doubly sure they remain in place for good. I let a fair amount of gas out of the gas rams and fitted these one at a time ensuring the first one was almost able to hold the boot lid up before fitting the second one.. I am super pleased with how these have turned out and I am hoping the bonnet ones work out just as well..

Thanks to Dad for all of his efforts, really appreciated 🙏
