Windscreen fitted
I made a start on installing the windscreen today. After getting it all level and 36" away from the rear scuttle lip, I marked 2 holes in each windscreen support stay and drilled 8" holes. It took a while to drill through these however once done I refitted the screen and drilled/tapped holes in the scuttle hoops. One hole needed opening up as it was slightly out of alignment, other than that it all went in fine. I have bolted it all in place and will eventually add some split washers when it goes in for its final fit. I was slightly concerned that the rubber edge/seal was a bit ruffled but on speaking with AK they advised this settles down over time.
I had to open up the windscreen escutcheons as they were just too tight and didn't allow me to fit the screen fully down. These are now sitting a lot better and I have marked these up ready for holes to be drilled.
I also fitted the centre stay to the screen as it's impossible to do afterwards. Again holes are now marked up ready for me to drill and fit to the body.
Prior to starting all of the above I had watched Russ Howells latest YouTube build update 'installing the looms and ECU'. I decided that his solution looked good for where to install the Canems ECU. The latest Canems ECU, cables and connectors are fairly hefty and there are limited options as to where this can be located. I haven't done any further work on this yet other than feeding the cables/relays around the back of the scuttle hoop prior to fitting the screen.
