Various jobs completed, including trial fit of new Wheels
My Cobra will be heading off to SMS Autospray in a little over three weeks time so I am busy doing various jobs I want/need to complete prior to this. Here is a brief overview of the latest jobs I have completed so far. Plenty more to follow before the 3 weeks are up.....
Drilled and fitted self tappers for indicators and rear lights
Marked up final hole sizes for exhausts. Holes were already cut to allow sidepipes to be fitted however I have decided not to use the escutcheons so I have marked up the shape/size of hole for SMS Autospray to finish off prior to paint.
I removed a small corner of the header on the passenger side so as to allow a few more mm gap as this is very close to the bodywork. I also sprayed the Allen key bolts used on the headers as these had gone rusty..
Added a USB point to the dashboard on the passenger side ready to connect up when I tackle the wiring. Not necessary before paint however another job ticked off the list..
I added the one way valve that's required on the vacuum hose which runs from the brake servo to the engine. When fitting this you need to ensure the arrow on the valve is pointing in the right direction. I also added another p-clip to keep the hose in place.
I fitted the air intake hoses from the engine and the fuel pipe to the engine. I was aiming to add a nice finisher on the fuel pipe as I had for the air intake pipes however I wasn't completely happy that it was fully secured. I also tried a mikalor clip but unfortunately this didn't allow the engine cover on this side to fit on, I ended up using a jubilee clip instead.
