My Cobra's first outing!
I had lots of jobs left over to do however I had the opportunity to take it to my local garage (Gem Garage in Ferring) and get the headlamps aligned, the brakes tested and the emissions checked. Well all I can say is that it was great to finally drive my Cobra on the road. It certainly sounds awesome and you can feel that he it has so much power, I will certainly have to be careful!
Suria who owns Gem Garage is a bit of a car nut too and he let me have a good look underneath and sort out a few minor jobs whilst it was up on the ramps. The headlamps were aligned and the brakes tested. The brake light switch had a very small leak however after added some ptfe tape it was all fine. The rear nearside brake was slightly under so I bled this again, all the others were up to the level expected, as was the electric handbrake. Suria set about testing the emissions and all was well within tolerance on the nearside exhaust. The machine stopped reading properly so we couldn't test the offside however I am taking it back in a few days time to retest this. There were a few other advisories of note, the exhaust bracket by the offside cat was touching the chassis, this was moved away and tightened back up. The nearside exhaust was touching the bodywork, this has been moved ever so slightly so it's not touching however I will need to keep an eye on this. The coolant hoses are resting against the starter motor, I will be making a bracket up to move these away..
